StormView Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Paypixl, Inc. ("Paypixl," "we," "us," or "our"), a Delaware corporation, collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the StormView mobile application, the website at weather.stormview.io, and related services (together, the "Service"). StormView provides forensic weather reports and storm-event analyses for properties.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Paypixl, Inc.
30 Ivy Ter, Oldsmar, FL 34677, United States
Privacy contact: support@paypixl.io
Paypixl, Inc. is the controller responsible for your personal information under this Policy.
2. Information we collect
a. Information you provide to us
- Account information: your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored only in salted, hashed form (bcrypt); we never store your password in plain text.
- Profile information (optional): mobile phone number and company/organization name.
- Communication preferences: whether you opt in to email updates and/or SMS text updates, and — if you opt in to SMS — the date, time, and exact consent text you agreed to.
- Report inputs: the property addresses and date ranges you submit, storm-type selections, and any recipient/"prepared for" details you enter for a report.
- AI assistant inputs: the questions and messages you send to the optional in-report AI assistant.
- Support communications: information you provide when you contact us.
b. Information we collect automatically
- Usage and device data: IP address, request logs, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, and basic device/browser information, used for security, rate-limiting, debugging, and service operation.
- Authentication data: a signed session cookie (website) or a secure token stored in your device keychain (app) so you stay signed in.
We do not use third-party advertising networks, and we do not use analytics SDKs or cross-app/cross-site tracking technologies in the app.
c. Information from third parties
- Google Sign-In (optional): if you choose to sign in with Google, Google provides us your name, email address, and a Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
- Payment processor: when you purchase a report or subscription, our processor (Stripe) confirms payment status and provides limited billing details (e.g., a customer identifier, plan, and payment result). We do not receive or store your full card number — card data is handled directly by Stripe.
d. Weather and property data
To generate reports, we combine your inputs with publicly available data (for example, NOAA/National Weather Service records, NEXRAD radar, and storm-event databases) and property/parcel information. This data is about places and weather events, not about you.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- generate, deliver, store, and let you view, modify, share, and download your reports;
- power an optional in-report AI assistant that answers your questions using only your report's data and our published methodology;
- geocode and map the addresses you enter (see Service Providers below);
- process payments, subscriptions, and optional meteorologist-certification add-ons;
- send you transactional messages (e.g., account, report-status, and receipt notices) and, if you opt in, email and/or SMS updates;
- provide customer support;
- maintain the security and integrity of the Service, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms; and
- comply with legal obligations.
Legal bases (where applicable, e.g., EEA/UK): performance of a contract with you; your consent (e.g., SMS/email marketing); our legitimate interests (security, service improvement, fraud prevention); and compliance with law.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, limited to what they need to perform their function:
- Stripe — payment processing;
- Google — sign-in (if you choose it) and map imagery in the mobile app;
- Mapbox — address autocomplete and maps (the address text and coordinates you enter are sent to Mapbox to return suggestions and map imagery);
- Anthropic — AI processing for the optional in-report assistant: when you use it, your question and the relevant contents of your report are sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. Anthropic processes this data only to return your response and, under our agreement, does not use it to train its models;
- Resend — sending transactional and opt-in emails;
- our SMS provider — sending text updates, only if you opt in;
- DigitalOcean — cloud hosting and storage;
- Expo (EAS) — mobile app build delivery and over-the-air updates;
- Apple — app distribution (App Store / TestFlight).
- Certified meteorologists engaged by us (staff or contractors) may review, annotate, and certify a report when you request certification.
- Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect our rights, users, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice where required).
- With your direction: when you create a share link, anyone with that link can view the associated report until you revoke it.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use only strictly necessary cookies/tokens to keep you signed in and to secure the Service (including a CSRF/session mechanism on the website). We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access and update: you can view and edit your profile in the app or on the website.
- Delete your account: you can delete your account and associated personal data from within the app (Account settings) or by emailing support@paypixl.io. Deletion removes your account and personal information, subject to limited retention required for legal, tax, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
- Marketing opt-outs: turn off email/SMS updates in your profile at any time; for SMS, reply STOP. Transactional messages necessary to operate the Service may still be sent.
- U.S. state privacy rights (e.g., California/CCPA): you may request to know, access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law, so no opt-out of sale is necessary. Submit requests to support@paypixl.io.
- EEA/UK rights (where applicable): access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection; and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law.
7. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then delete or de-identify it within a reasonable period, except where longer retention is required for legal, tax, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes. Reports and their inputs are retained so you can access them until you delete them or close your account.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including password hashing, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), scoped access to report artifacts, and secure token storage on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for users 13 years of age or older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact support@paypixl.io and we will delete it.
10. International users
We are based in the United States and process information in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.
11. Third-party links and data sources
The Service may link to third-party websites or public data sources (e.g., government weather records). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app, by email, or on the website. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
